Turn your logbook totals into a gap list

Copy your current aeroplane totals into the three groups below. The result separates remaining hours from the alternative PIC / PICUS routes.

Use aeroplane flight time only for total time. Simulator credit toward the total and credits from other aircraft categories are excluded. This worksheet does not determine licence eligibility.

1. Total and operating experience

Multi-pilot and night time are included in your total. Do not add overlapping categories together.

2. Command and cross-country

Count qualifying PICUS from your records. Your authority must confirm the supervision scheme and accepted credit.

3. Instrument experience

Enter ground time separately so the worksheet can apply the 30-hour credit cap.

Hours are not saved or uploaded. Print the result if you want a record.

PIC, multi-pilot, cross-country and night hours can overlap within total aeroplane flight time. Instrument flight time is also aircraft time; instrument ground time is separate and has its own credit limit.
The shapes are conceptual, not proportional to your hours. The worksheet excludes simulator credit toward total time and credits instrument ground time only within its stated cap. Original Fly HR graphic. View full-size graphic (opens in a new tab)

What the worksheet checks

The experience counters follow the aeroplane thresholds in FCL.510.A: total time, multi-pilot, command experience, cross-country, instrument and night time. The result shows remaining hours and the three command routes separately.

Thresholds, credits and limits
  • 1,500 hours total aeroplane flight time and 500 hours in multi-pilot aeroplane operations.
  • Command experience: 250 PIC, 500 qualifying PICUS, or 250 combined PIC / PICUS including at least 70 PIC. One qualifying route is enough.
  • 200 cross-country hours, including 100 as PIC / PICUS.
  • 75 instrument hours; no more than 30 instrument ground hours are credited here.
  • 100 night hours as PIC or co-pilot.

Categories overlap and should not be added to obtain total time. This worksheet excludes simulator credit toward total time and credits from other aircraft categories. It cannot verify a PICUS scheme or logbook evidence.

Take the next step with your authority

Meeting the counters is an experience check, not approval for licence issue. Ask your licensing authority to confirm accepted credits, licence and rating prerequisites, theory credit, age, medical fitness and the skill test.
