To find airlines hiring pilots in Europe, start with official recruitment pages and then check the specific role, base and eligibility requirements. A careers hub, standing application form and live vacancy are different things. None establishes that an airline is currently hiring someone with your profile.

Source check: 2 October 2026. The routes below were reviewed on that date. This is a shortlist of official sources, not a complete vacancy count or a ranking of hiring demand. Openings and intake dates can change after the check.

Official European pilot recruitment routes

OperatorWhat the checked page providesWhat to verify before applying
Ryanair qualified-cadet pathwayA published application and assessment route into B737 type-rating training for qualified candidates.Current advert, accepted licence, work rights, required certificates and training agreement.
Wizz Air pilot recruitmentPilot application route and recruitment information, distinct from its ab-initio academy.Experience category, employing airline, base, licence and work permission.
easyJet pilotsType-rated and non-type-rated captain/co-pilot requirements and links to opportunities.The specific role; a non-type-rated experienced-hire category is not automatically a low-time route.
TUI pilotsAn official pilot careers hub and route to job search.Which group airline and country, vacancy status, licence requirements and intake dates.
Volotea pilotsAn official pilot department page and recruitment links. The individual vacancy’s rank, base, hours and closing information.
Avion Express pilot recruitmentA320 captain recruitment messaging and links to application routes. The linked advert’s hours, recency and employing entity; do not infer an entry-level route.
Hi Fly careersA published partially self-sponsored Junior First Officer programme alongside other roles.Eligibility, selection, training costs and the written employment conditions.

The table describes what the source pages showed, not a guarantee of an available assessment or start date. TUI and Volotea are retained as official places to check; we do not treat the existence of their careers pages as proof of an open pilot vacancy.

For newly qualified and low-time pilots

Separate ab-initio programmes for people beginning training from qualified-cadet recruitment for people who already hold a commercial licence and relevant certificates. Also distinguish both from experienced-hire advertisements.

Use the low-time pilot jobs guide to choose a route, then compare each programme with your actual licence, medical, work rights, training and budget. The audit of 20 cadet programmes explains why funding and eligibility should be checked separately. It is a dated research sample rather than a current list of open intakes.

For experienced First Officers and Captains

Check total time, command time, time on type and recent aircraft experience as separate requirements. Record your last flight on type and the period used for any recent-hour figure. A rating that remains valid does not necessarily satisfy a vacancy’s recency wording.

Use our analysis of 102 pilot vacancies to understand the kinds of recency criteria employers publish. The sample was collected in September 2026; verify today’s advert before deciding you qualify.

For pilots considering ACMI

Identify the operating airline and the entity offering the contract, then compare aircraft, base, rotation and personal travel costs. The European ACMI airline directory covers Avion Express, GetJet, KlasJet, Hi Fly, Titan and ASL careers routes. The ACMI job application guide explains how to check an operator and prepare the documentation.

Do not infer a job from a fleet-growth announcement or an operator’s customer contract. Wait for a published role or a confirmed recruitment route and check the terms attached to it.

How to check that a vacancy is usable

Verify an opportunity by following the official recruitment link, checking the individual vacancy, saving dated evidence and tracking the application.
A careers hub or application button does not establish an opening that fits your profile. Check the live advert. Original Fly HR graphic. View full-size graphic (opens in a new tab)

An application button is one useful check, but it is not proof that the advertised terms remain available to you. If a page lacks dates or leaves key requirements unclear, label that uncertainty in your shortlist.

A manageable application routine

Choose a small group of employers that fit your profile and review their official pages regularly. Use the pilot application tracker for links, application status and next actions. Keep a dated copy of your pilot CV and reconcile it with the portal before submitting.

Prepare for the selection process that is actually published. The interview guide, simulator preparation guide and ab-initio cadet selection research cover different parts of that work.

If training payment is involved, use the type-rating decision guide before committing. If an offer arrives, use the offer checklist to collect written answers on pay, base, training liability and start conditions.

Frequently asked questions

Which airline has the most pilot vacancies?

This page does not measure vacancy counts or hiring volumes. The shortlist identifies official recruitment sources; it cannot establish a market-wide ranking.

Does non-type-rated mean low-time?

No. An employer can accept a pilot without its fleet’s rating while still requiring substantial aircraft experience. Read the hours and other conditions in that category.

Should I buy a rating because an airline is recruiting?

First confirm whether its specific route requires the rating, whether you meet the other minimums and what written commitment follows any training payment.

Update note

Updated 2 October 2026: replaced broad claims about the strongest hiring sectors with dated official recruitment routes, distinguished careers hubs from individual vacancies, and added links to application tools and the September research. No forecast of pilot demand or guaranteed employment is made.
